It's Been A Loooong Week ...

It has been a very long week. Where to start? Well, my baby has graduated from high school. It was a very nice ceremony. She had a good crowd of support. Me and Mountain Man, Matt and Kendall, Becky and Bekah, Gene and Ann, Nick, Liz, Father Don Ennis and Mary Ann, Grandmother Ginny and "Short" were all there to see her graduate. After the graduation, we went to Pizza Hut at the triangle in Concord. Funny, seems they did not want to wait on us. After 20 minutes, we decided to go to the IHOP. It was enjoyed by all. We finally got home around 11:30 and got in the bed by midnight.
On Saturday, we loaded up the U-Haul, the car and the cruiser and headed northwest. I cried as I was telling Boo Boo bye. I hope to be able to see her next weekend, though.
We made it up the hill around 7:30 p.m. We went ahead and unloaded everything except the clothes, but didn't put anything together. We were too tired. We were just glad to have that part behind us. We made a snack and just headed off to bed (on the couch). We both slept pretty soundly.
Sunday morning, we got up and went to Sunday School and Worship Service at the best little Baptist Church in West Jefferson (even though my wrists, elbows, shoulders, knees and feet were urging me not to -- or could that have been Satan telling me not to go). So after breakfast, I got out of my recliner, took some Ibuprofen and a shower. Twenty minutes later, I felt like a new person. I have had concerns that since we've been going to Obids they had not yet observed Communion. That would definitely be an issue for us when when choosing a new church to join locally. And wouldn't you know it, when we walked in the sanctuary, the table was set for The Lord's Supper. Thank you God, for answering that prayer! We went to Casa Garcia for lunch and came back home. Mountain Man put the eating table together, then we proceeded to work on the other two beds. Monday morning, I woke up pretty earlier. It was foggy outside - but still beautiful. I have been so busy this week, I can't really remember what I did on Monday, (but I do know that I washed at least four loads of laundry) but most of the week was spent on shopping and/or job hunting. I know I went to the ESC office a couple of days. Tuesday, I called Pastor Tom at work and talked to him about us joining the fellowship of Obids BC. He told us that on Sunday, after worship service, they would open the church doors for new members and at that time, we should go to the altar to join the church. On Wednesday night, we went to Bible Study at Obids. Tom was so excited about our decision, that he went ahead and conducted business then, rather than waiting until Sunday! On Thursday, I had to go to Boone to take a "keyboarding" and spelling test for a job that is open for the Ashe County School System. If you're reading this, please pray with me that the Lord allows me this opportunity.
Well, I didn't do so well on the "keyboarding" test. I only typed 78 words per minutes. That's about 17 words below my average. Of course, my spelling test score was off the charts! If you know me personally, you'll understand that remark. Afterwards, we went to Staple's to get a printer/copier/fax/scanner. This will save me from having to go to Next Safety's office every time I need to send a fax or make copies of my resume. I forgot to get an easy button while I was there. Dangit! Friday, I pretty much just tried to catch my breath from all of the running around I've been doing all week. Saturday, the pains returned, so I got up early AGAIN! I started a load of clothes then finished sorting through my clothes to see what all could be taken to Salvation Army, then took a shower. Jel and I went in to town (WJ), toured the farmers market (no fruits or veggies there!), then just walked around downtown for a while just to get some exercise. We went to McDonald's for lunch then came back home and I did some more laundry. Jel marinated the pork ribs for supper. He's playing at the Moonshine Inn in Miller's Creek tonight. There'll be opportunities galore for Jesus there! I'll be home watching the Tar Heels in the CWS. Supper was awesome. I made some slaw and baked beans to go with the ribs. That brings me up to now. I plan to try to get plenty of rest before we have to leave next Saturday to go to the beach. Sounds like a chore, doesn't it. Actually, it'll be kinda nice to get away for awhile. Plus, I'll get to see my baby girl and my grand-dogger and Nick and Daisy! Becky and I still need to go shopping for our grass skirts and coconut bras before the Luau. Till next time, Mountain Mama
