The move...

The most important room in the apartment - the kitchen. The living room.... The bathroom...... Jel's room with his little bed.... (but he agrees with me that it sleeps much better than that slab of concrete) Bekah's room ... The views .... We moved linens, the bed, chair and a half, kitchen stuff and other odds and ends from the house in Mount Pleasant on Thursday (May 1st). Jel drove the POS and I drove the FJ. After we got that unloaded, we went over to Badger street and emptied the kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom and loaded the sleeper sofa into the POS, then drove all of that back over. Needless to say, I was pretty tired afterwards. We needed a phone, shower curtain and coffee pot for Friday morning, so we decided to ride over and eat at Casa Garcia's, then cruise over to Wal-Mart for the essentials. We both slept like logs Thursday night, but Jel said that I snored. Can you believe that? Friday morning, I got up and made the coffee and waited for the cable/internet guys to come over. They left about noon, then I was off. First stop was the dollar store, then Roses, then Wal-Mart. I bout the essentials; towels, soap, shampoo, rugs, kitchen stuff and decorating stuff . I got back home about 4 o'clock and started putting everything away. Jel got home about 6:30 - and I told him I was too pooped to cook. So, off to Smoky Mountain Barbecue we went. Saturday morning, we went to the yard sale at Next Safety, then we had planned to go to Sears to look for a washer and dryer, but they weren't open yet. So we went back to the apartment, and Jel attempted to put together a computer desk that I had bought. He said that it was damaged and that we'd have to take it back. So he put the desk back into the box and off we went. First stop was to Roses, where we exchanged the desk and picked up other essentials like a broom, mop, can opener, etc. I just love that store! We then went to Sears and priced the washer and dryer, then went directly to Lowe's and bought a set. They could deliver on Sunday morning, between 8:00 a.m. and noon. Jel thought we would have time to make it to church, but I told him, they would come around 11:30. I was pretty close. It was actually about 11:35 am when they got there. On Sunday, I left about 4:00 and drove the POS back home. Kate and Nick wanted to go out to eat, so we went to Pizza Hut. It was great! It was a very tiring weekend and I am still tired (on Monday), but I'm glad to have it all behind me. Looking forward to getting some rest this week. PS - I took Kate to the doctor today and she has strep throat. Something else to look forward to.... Mahzha
