December Snowfall

Guess what the weather was like this weekend in West Jefferson, North Carolina? We didn't get to see this site until Sunday, though.
Friday night was cold, but not that cold.
Saturday morning was foggy, but that didn't stop us from heading to Boone for some Tony's Ice Cream. The Blue Mountain Coffee Shop in Boone is now serving the delicious ice cream directly from Gastonia. I had black walnut with a medium cup of white hot chocolate. That hit the spot. Jel had chocolate ice cream with a cup of coffee. All of you mountaineers simply must check out this place. It's diagonal across 105 from the Sagebrush. We also found the mall in Boone. I have seen the ads, but never knew where it was located. Now I know. We then ventured back to Ashe County and hit the Wally World for groceries. Jel wanted to stop at the Bue Moon Music store to inquire about bands looking for a bass player. I told him he needs to put an ad in the Second Handed News. I guess I'll have to do that for him. We then went to the Ashe County Cheese Store to pick up a gift for Miss Ella and Rev. George Gouge. We simply love them to death.
I woke up Sunday to the sounds of Hurricane Hugo again. It was very windy, and it had been freezing rain Saturday night, so we decided to stay in but we did worship with Dr. Joe Brown @ HGBC on TV. Sunday was a Hallmark movie channel kind of day. It's still hard to believe that the Panthers won again. I left to come home about 4:00. I knew if I didn't get down off the mountain before nightfall, I'd have to wait until Monday, and I've done that before. I wouldn't recommend it again, especially since the roads would be very icy! The kids were eating Wendy's when I got home.
As I write this, Boo Boo is pulling at my sock, and grabbing my toes, too. Ouch!
Till next time,
Boo Boo, that hurts!
